  • OnePlus to show off 5G phone prototype at MWC 2019

OnePlus encourages attendees to experience a 5G smartphone prototype at a booth run by Qualcomm at MWC 2019.

The OnePlus 5G handset is expected to debut sometime in May alongside the OnePlus 7.

A few days ago, OnePlus sent out media invites for its event during Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.

In regard to this particular event, OnePlus is inviting everyone to "communicate" over a 5G network at its stand within Qualcomm's booth at Mobile World Congress. The OnePlus 5G prototype phone will be running on a fully functional network. Last year, it was announced by the company during Qualcomm's event that OnePlus will be among the first smartphone manufacturers to launch a 5G-compatible smartphone.

In the night's other last-16 game, teenager Nicolo Zaniolo scored twice to lead Roma to a 2-1 victory. We all are very optimistic and positive, it's just one result and we're in a good moment.

Circling back to the phone itself, beyond the basic specifications we mentioned above, we don't know much about OnePlus' upcoming device. Firstly, it will most likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 855, with the added benefit being that the SoC will be embedded with the Snapdragon X50 5G modem.

Expect to see the OnePlus 5G phone used for gaming experiences which will show just what the low-latency of high-speed 5G could make possible on the go in the very near future.

With major cellphone makers like Samsung, Apple, and Google lagging behind in the 5G-ready smartphone race, it seems OnePlus is planning to pick up the slack.
