Phil Mickelson and Paul Casey share Pebble Beach lead before play abandoned

Mickelson looked likely to have a healthy lead at the halfway stage until he bogeyed three of his last four holes at Spyglass Hill and settled for a 68 which got him to 10 under, while Casey managed to complete a seven-under 64 on the Monterey Peninsula course before play was abandoned for the day.

After a second straight bogey at the 10th, he rallied with a birdie at the 13th, where he landed a wedge three feet from the pin, and an eagle at the par-five 14th - where he stuck his second shot within four feet.

Searching for his fifth PGA Tour victory at Pebble Beach, Mickelson welcomed the brutal forecast.

That makes Mickelson's up-and-down day which featured four bogeys, four birdies and an eagle much more palatable.

With all due respect to Mr. Furyk, he won't hit a shot anywhere near as cool as the one Romo pulled off on Pebble Beach's 15th hole Friday.

"I thought anything in the 60s was going to be a heck of a round, and I was one shy", Mickelson said.

"It was nice to birdie the last, but I hate finishing the round off like that - three bogeys after having a pretty good round going in". "It was very hard but I was able to come back when it cleared up".

Washington's top negotiator, Betts, also met with South Korea's Foreign Minister, Kang Kyung-wha, before signing the agreement. South Korea began paying for the USA military deployment in the early 1990s, after rebuilding its war-devastated economy.

"The victor of this tournament usually comes from behind the final twosome, so Paul and I can't start playing against each other", said Lefty, who is trying to tie Mark O'Meara's tournament record of five victories.

Paul Casey, who was in a five-way share of the lead after two rounds, holds a three-shot lead from Phil Mickelson. "He's going to be tough to catch".

Former US Open victor Lucas Glover (70) and fellow American Scott Piercy (69) share third at 11 under.

"It's tricky on occasions, but you have to embrace it", Casey said.

Casey, who is chasing a third PGA Tour win, cut a swathe through the field, jumping almost 30 spots after his round at Monterey Peninsula. A late bogey at Monterey Peninsula saw Glover drop from 12-under to 11-under 204 after a 70.

Jordan Spieth, the 2017 champion, was at 10 under through 16 holes when play was suspended for the day due to heavy rain.
