While the tweet was swiftly deleted, Minaj's fans flooded the network's social media accounts in support of the rapper. After last night's Grammy Awards, the network attempted to drag Nicki Minaj with a tweet highlighting Cardi B Grammy-winning night for Best Rap Album.

In a statement, BET apologized to Minaj for the "hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused". "Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show", she tweeted, seemingly indicating that Lil Wayne would no longer perform now, as well.

In a statement released on Tuesday BET said the tweet was unfortunate and that it was not a reflection of how the company feels about the rapper. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.

The network added it took unspecified "additional appropriate action" once the tweet was brought to the attention of executives and said, "We understand Nicki's position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her". Nicki didn't stop there, she later captioned a screenshot of her fans slamming BET with caption: "Meanwhile, BET is being dragged by their lace front".
