  • A man is restrained after he began shoving members of the media during a rally for President Donald Trump in El Paso Texas

The video, filmed by a cameraman for the BBC, shows the moment that the Trump supporter, later said by a campaign official to have been drunk, attacked the press corps during a frenetic rally.

Describing what unfolded, he said a Trump supporter mounted the press gallery and pushed the camera into his colleague, before continuing to push Skeans.

O'Donoghue told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "It was an incredibly violent attack".

Footage captured from Mr Skeans's camera was posted to Twitter by Mr O'Donoghue and shows the shot focused on Mr Trump before jolting away.

The man can then be heard shouting "USA" and "f*ck the media".

The alleged assailant screams "f*ck the media" as he's pulled away from Skeans, and the crowd begins to chant "let him go" as they become aware of the disturbance.

Mr O'Donoghue added that he had been "spat at before".

CNN's Jim Acosta has been heckled several times at Trump rallies with supporters of the U.S. president shouting "fake news" and "go home" behind him.

The cameraman told the BBC that the "very hard shove" came out of nowhere. "The man was removed by security and Ron is fine".

United Nations experts last August warned that Trump's attacks "increase the risk of journalists being attacked with violence" and suggested that his rhetoric was "strategic".

The president, who was at a section his speech concerning Hispanic and Asian Americans when the violence broke out, reportedly noticed the disruption.

As President Trump talked about the current unemployment rate among minority groups in America, a man wearing a MAGA hat allegedly shoved a BBC cameraman, knocking both him and his camera over.

Speaking to a packed stadium that holds about 8,000 in El Paso, Trump slammed the 'dishonest media'.

According to reports, a spokesman for El Paso fire department said the president's claim was incorrect, and that only 6,500 people were allowed inside - the building's capacity.
