EA’s not anxious about Battlefield 5’s Firestorm and Apex Legends competing

Apex Legends seems to be going from strength to strength; after managing to reach a million players in its first eight hours, the free-to-play battle royale shooter has now hit 10 million players in three days flat. In Apex Legends, weapons get color-coded ammunition to make identifying what you need easier, attachments are automatically added to guns they fit (and new weapons when you swap one for another), and landmarks with good loot are clearly marked. But there are some players who still have yet to jump into the game yet. While the game is a traditional battle royale affair, of course, it's a somewhat different spin on the formula, as it kind of crosses Fortnite with Overwatch.

Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Art's hot new game hasn't even been out for a week, but the tech gurus over at Digital Foundry have already put the game to test on all available console platforms. But is Apex Legends the same?

He went on to promise that there is "much more" in store for Legends players later this year - precisely what that means remains to be seen, but given the excellent quality of the game we have now, we're looking forward to finding out. There is no option to just play solo, and by default, one member of your squad is chosen as leader to guide the rest of you to your starting point.

Apex Legends on PC has a download size of 12GB. They're the characters themselves, and as of right now you can spend Apex Coins or Legend Tokens on unlocking Caustic and Mirage. He also believes that this game's success could lead to greater interest in the coming release of the "Titanfall" sequel.

If you haven't tried Apex Legends yet, there's obviously nothing stopping you from giving it a shot, as it's free. One thing on the minds of EA is the inclusion of cross-play for the Battle Royale game. However, that was most likely because the other two people left before the start and not because of a lack of players.
