  • After pulling out of Grammys, THIS is how Ariana Grande plans to make it up to her fans

Ariana Grande set the record straight on the real reason she cancelled her Grammys performance, after the show's producer claimed she felt "it was too late" to prepare.

In the clip, which she's been teasing for the last 24 hours, Grande faces off against her double at the club and at a party, and her double is dating Riverdale's Charles Melton.

Grande fired back on Twitter on Thursday, saying "I've kept my mouth shut but now you're lying about me".

According to an article in Variety, an "insider" said the artist had been left insulted when producers tried to control which songs she performed.

When the Grammys ruled against that it was suggested instead that Ariana Grande perform a medley of songs which included her latest hit. "I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken". She's not expected to attend the ceremony, though she tweeted that she is "still grateful for the acknowledgement this year". It's about art and honesty.

Ariana Grande has accused the organisers behind the Grammy Awards of "lying" and "playing games". It's just a game y'all... and I'm sorry but that's not what music is to me.

The album dropped just after midnight on February 8 on Spotify, but over on iTunes only the previously released tracks were available.

In addition to being nominated for the Best Pop Solo Performance ("God Is a Woman") and Best Pop Vocal Album (Sweetener) Grammys, the Recording Academy used Grande's photo to promote the broadcast on billboards throughout Los Angeles.
