  • Bell Let's Talk supports SAH's mental health care with a $10000 grant

She added at the college they are continuously trying to engage in conversation about mental health with students on how to be more resilient with the struggles they may face and to give them that support they need.

"We wanted to showcase our new building as an inviting space, ensuring that youth are comfortable in reaching out should they need help some day", said Deena Shorkey, director of child and youth mental health services at Cornwall Community Hospital. "Growing and expanding our services at Sault Area Hospital will help provide the level of care that every member of our community deserves", said Teresa Martone, executive director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

Funding for mental health is not keeping up with the demand for services, according to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Lambton-Kent. "Marie region", said Mary Deacon, chair of Bell Let's Talk.

"The stigma around mental illness is absolutely declining and Bell Let's Talk day and other mental health champions, as well as, have had an impact on that, for sure", Stevenson said.

Laporte calls for ‘extra effort’ to keep stuttering City in title hunt
Newcastle are winless in their last 22 Premier League games against Manchester City (D3, L19). We want to win a game and we don't, so we don't feel brilliant.

Nationally recognized, on January 30 of every year, Bell Canada will donate towards Canadian mental health initiatives by contributing five cents for every applicable text, call, tweet, social media video view and use of their Facebook frame or Snapchat filter, as stated on their website.

Bell Let's Talk Day encouraged conversations across Canada about mental health, increasing awareness, reducing stigma and helping to make a difference in the lives of others facing mental illness. That's why our government has made mental health a priority.

We often hear from experts about mental health and why it's so important that we know better so we can do better, and Your Morning's Anne-Marie Mediwake knows just how critical this conversation is.

"I know lots of young people now who have struggled a bit and they've got everything going flawless in their life and you think everything is rosy but it's not".
