  • Meghan Markle's bodyguard quits after six months working for pregnant Duchess of Sussex

Meghan Markle has made history and sparked unprecedented change in the royal world since marrying Prince Harry last May, so it should come as no surprise that the Duchess of Sussex wanted to mix things up in Prince Harry's life as well.

The female police officer has never been named for security reasons, but she was the bodyguard who was photographed leaping into action during a security scare in Fiji during the couple's royal tour a year ago.

But she has now quit after being in the job for only about six months, according to The Sunday Times.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived in Birkenhead this morning for their day of royal engagmeents - with Meghan stunning in a red and purple outfit.

According to Vanity Fair the former Suits star is set to return to both her former homes for a tour that will take place after the duchess has taken a short maternity leave from royal duties of six months, in late 2019.

Military Action Explored Against Iran After September Baghdad Mortar Attack
Tensions between the United States and Iran have risen significantly ever since Donald Trump's election as President. The newspaper reported that the request sparked deep concern among Pentagon and State Department officials.

A Scotland Yard source told The Sunday Times: "Unlike someone who has grown up in the Royal Family and has been used to close protection from an early age, having it can be quite constraining".

It is understood that her Royal Protection Officer was anxious that Meghan wanted to be 'one of the people'.

'But in her current role she can't go anywhere without her protection team and that's a massive constraining force on an individual like her'. She previously worked at Buckingham Palace as the Queen's assistant private secretary and moved over to Kensington Palace...

But despite Meghan being due to give birth to her and Harry's birthday in March or April, she and Harry are showing no signs of slowing down as they take on more engagements.
