"We can talk about Harry Kane and his class. Marcus has the potential to get up there also", said the Norwegian.

Kane has bagged 20 Premier League goals in each of his last four seasons and won the Golden Boot at last summer's World Cup.

"He can become a top, top striker", said Solskjaer.

"He has got frightening pace, he's becoming stronger, he can now hold the ball up for us, he's a great link player".

"[Tahith] Chong, Angel [Gomes] and him, they play together in a certain way so he's a very exciting player to work with".

Pochettino revealed that he and Tottenham goalkeeper coach Toni Jimenez cheered Solskjaer's dramatic Champions League-winning goal for United against Bayern Munich from inside the Nou Camp in 1999.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, whose side host United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's resurgent team at Wembley on Sunday, is a huge admirer of Ferguson - a man the Argentine describes as an encyclopedia of football. I'm sure whoever plays and trains with him can talk more about him but, from the outside, he is a fantastic finisher.

When asked if he thought this situation would give Solskjaer more motivation on Sunday, Pochettino replied: "Motivation is going to be there and then of course when you are a manager you can't be focused on rumours the most important thing is the motivation we have to do. If we want to get closer to [Tottenham], we need a good performance and a good result". "It's easier to play an attacking way and your way when you've got good players, and he's got lots of good players".

Going into the weekend, the news cycle around Old Trafford has not churned out any sensational headlines, but it is still turning and we've made sure you're up to date ahead of the big match this weekend...

"I can only judge the team today, and they are in very good form".

"I think it's fantastic news because he is football", Pochettino told reporters at his news conference on Friday. I think the boys enjoyed it, we put a few principles down and I know they worked hard and I think they enjoy working hard as well.
