  • iPhone 11 Max rumored to have a triple-lens camera

As for the successor to the iPhone XR, Apple will continue to use LCD panels for the device.

The new generation of iPhones are still just four months old now but intel is already piling up on the iPhone 11.

Apple doesn't do CES, but Apple-related news and rumors usually dominate the biggest consumer electronics show of the year.

This isn't the first time we've heard rumours that the company plans to release a triple-camera iPhone. The other two iPhone models will be the direct successors to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max phones, revealed a report.

By then, the OLED supply-chain would have likely matured enough that Apple's requirements will be fulfilled.

However, it looks set to keep an LCD model in its iPhone lineup for now, with the WSJ noting that Apple's project planning has progressed to a point where major features, like the display, can not be easily changed.

In an ideal world, Apple probably wouldn't launch an entry-level device in 2019 but because the LCD iPhone has been in the product pipeline for so long, abandoning it at this stage would make even less sense, the sources suggested.

The iPhone maker also intends to introduce new camera features, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Soon after the newspaper's report was published, expert concept render artist Ben Geskin posted mock-ups of the three handsets, based on 2018 iPhones.

Apple isn't going down easy. A spokesperson for Apple did not immediately respond to FOX Business' request for comment on the report. "But if they wait beyond 2020, then I think they'll be impacted".

"What we want from Apple is something that makes us emotional, even unconsciously-say, truly lovely and sophisticated design that we can't resist", said Atsushi Osanai, a professor at Waseda University in Tokyo who is an expert in electronics. In a research note seen by 9to5Mac, Kuo says he expects Apple to shift away from Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) antenna technology in favour of a new combination of Modified PI tech, primarily to improve yield rates and simplify the production process.
