- A Milwaukee bus driver rescued a young child who was wandering barefoot on a freeway overpass in frigid temperatures, authorities say.

Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) driver Irena Ivic spotted the boy, wearing only a red onesie and no shoes, running down the sidewalk at 8 a.m. on December 22, 2018. He was wearing just a onesie and a diaper.

Ivic stopped her bus and darted across the busy street to pick up the child, who was crying.

Police Think R. Kelly Is Paying An Enforcer To Threaten "Survivors"
Kelly and I have sometimes very untrue things written about us, so in a way this was a bond between us", she said at the time . The singer has long since dodged conviction, getting acquited of charges of child pornography back in 2008.

From a distance on her regular morning route on Milwaukee's south side, just after 8 a.m., she saw him: a baby boy alone running along a freeway overpass sidewalk. Surveillance camera footage from inside the bus shows a concerned passenger waiting by the door when Ivic returned with the boy in her arms. A passenger on Ivic's bus gave up her coat to keep the infant warm while they waited for firefighters, police and transit security officers to arrive, WISN-TV reports. When police gathered near his home, he noticed his child was not there and ran outside.

Authorities eventually reunited the baby girl with her father. Abele called her actions "humanity at its best". "She did the right thing", Abele said.

MCTS drivers have found nine lost or missing children in recent years, according to their website.
