Markelle has been diagnosed with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, a physical injury.

Sixers guard Markelle Fultz is out indefinitely following a diagnoses of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

Fultz had been suffering from a mysterious and undisclosed ailment that appeared to be affecting his shooting, which had become even more noticeable this season when he took an awkward free throw shot that was widely spread on social media. He's averaged 8.2 points and 3.1 assists per game in 19 games this season. "TOS is treatable by physical therapy".

"Fultz's attorney and agent, Raymond Brothers, has strong confidence that this diagnosis and rehab will address Fultz's shooting issues", Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported.

His agent maintains that Fultz's shooting struggles, which only really started once he entered the National Basketball Association, stem from this injury and that it is not a "mental problem", as some have suggested, according to ESPN. It has also been one of the major stories in the NBA since he was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. "Now we have the answer to that problem".

Brothers said his client would begin his rehabilitation program in Los Angeles, not Philadelphia.
