  • Pilots encounter ‘very bright’ UFO which ‘disappeared at high speed’

A UFO investigation is under way in Ireland after pilots flying BA and Virgin Airlines jets reported seeing mysterious bright lights as they crossed the country.

He said there were "multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory".

Another pilot claimed to have seen objects that were travelling at "astronomical" speeds, which they claimed was up to Mach 2, which is two times the speed of sound in air.

Just before 7 o'clock last Friday morning, Shannon Air Traffic control got a call from a British Airways pilot passing over Kerry enquiring if there was a military exercise taking place in the area.

The pilot said the "very bright light" was "flying so fast" alongside the left-hand side of the aircraft before it "disappeared at very high speed".

Controllers on the ground said there was "nothing showing on either primary or secondary (radar)".

The Irish Examiner reports that a pilot of a Virgin Airlines Boeing 747, flying from Orlando to Manchester, then joined the conversation to detail the sighting of an object re-entering the atmosphere.

Pilots report possible UFO sighting.

However, the British pilot made it clear that that weird object spotted in the skies was not heading for a collision.

Another pilot also weighed in, saying: "Glad I'm not the only one".

The Irish Aviation Authority said they were investigating the incident.

In a statement, the authority said: "Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday, November 9, of unusual air activity, the IAA has filed a report.

This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process", said the Irish Aviation Authority, Metro.co.uk reports.
