  • Trump Press Conference Acosta Rude

Trump appeared ready to walk out as Acosta clung to the microphone and persisted with questions about the president's views on a caravan of Central American migrants making its way to the United States border.

"I think you should let me run the country and let you run CNN, " Trump said.

During the CNN reporter's heated clash with the president, a White House aide tried to cut Acosta off and take away his microphone.

"I consider it an invasion, you and I have a difference in opinion", the president said, repeatedly interrupting the reporter.

Trump answered Acosta's second question saying, "I'm not concerned about anything with the Russian Federation investigation because it's a hoax".

Acosta started out by saying he was challenging Trump's description of a caravan of migrants coming from Guatemala and Honduras, intent on entering illegally to request asylum, as an "invasion". "And you shouldn't be working for CNN".

"You are a rude, bad person", the president said.

And he accused an African-American reporter of asking him a racist question about whether his embrace of economic "nationalism" hints at support for white nationalism.

After a war of words between the journalist and president, Trump said CNN was fake news and, as such, an enemy of the people. Trump said. The president may have been referring to an October 29 Rasmussen Reports poll he tweeted last week, which showed 40 percent of African-Americans approved of his performance.

"I think that's unfair-" Acosta started to reply, before Trump cut him off again.

Trump fired back, using his Twitter feed to call her a "crazed, crying lowlife" and 'that dog'.

Sanders could be seen laughing at the president's verbal sparring with the press. "They are not only risky, they are disturbingly un-American", the network said, voicing its support for Acosta and "journalists everywhere". While President Trump has made it clear he does not respect a free press, he has a sworn obligation to protect it. "We used to call it the press". After tweeting a rambling complaint about the volume of the music at Trump's campaign-style rallies last month, Acosta messaged a former White House official who responded, telling him to "f*ck off".
