  • Meteor shower

Looking for a show at 2 a.m. this coming Monday morning to kick-start your week?

At its peak, the shower usually produces between 10 and 20 meteors per hour.

The sky will light up this weekend as the Orionid meteor shower peaks.

The almost full moon will be shining brightly in the sky for most of the night, making it harder to see some of the dimmer meteors, but it will not ruin the celestial show completely.

How to watch West Ham vs
Tottenham this summer became the first Premier League club not to sign a single player in the transfer window. Now it's a different season and maybe we will win all the games.

Meteor showers, like the Orionids, occur on a yearly basis when the Earth passes through a trail of debris left behind by a comet.

The skies need to be clear too, with very little or no cloud cover.

These shooting stars will be visible to the naked eye and best seen in areas with low light pollution, the most dramatic sights will visible between just before midnight on Sunday October 21 into dawn on the Monday morning. It takes the comet 76 years to orbit the sun, so it will enter Earth's atmosphere in 2061.

The meteors radiate from constellation Orion. It does set after 3 a.m. on both mornings, giving us the best opportunity to see the Orionids. That will keep the marine layer away from the coast, making it easier to see the night sky.
