NASA's Nick Hague, flying for the first time, and Aleksey Ovchinin of Roscosmos blasted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan just before 10am.

The two-man crew of a Soyuz rocket are alive after they were forced to make an emergency landing on Thursday following lift-off to the International Space Station, the Russian space agency said.

Agencies cited sources as saying that the crew was safe and was making an emergency landing in Kazakhstan where Thursday's unsuccessful launch took place.

NASA says that two astronauts from the USA and Russian Federation are in good condition after an emergency landing following booster rocket failure minutes after the launch.

Pet Sematary Trailer: What’s Dead Should Stay Dead
What do you think of the trailer for Pet Sematary? That's true for horror movies, and especially so if it's a King property. Pet Sematary co-directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch have revealed that they expect the movie to be rated R.

However, it later tweeted that there had been an issue with the booster from the launch and that the rocket would returning to Earth in "ballistic descend mode". NASA said search and rescue crews were en route to the projected landing site, expecting to arrive in about 90 minutes.

The Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft is seen moments after blastoff.

Relations between Moscow and Washington have sunk to post-Cold War lows over the crisis in Ukraine, the war in Syria and allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 USA presidential vote, but Russia and the U.S. have maintained cooperation in space.
