  • Making a Murderer Season 2 Trailer Explores the Post Conviction of Steven Avery

Two weeks ago Netflix finally announced when the world would get to see the much-anticipated second season of "Making a Murderer", and now we have a new trailer for the global phenomenon documentary series.

"Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos return to the Midwest where they have exclusive access to Steven Avery and his co-defendant and nephew Brendan Dassey, their families and the legal teams fighting for justice on their behalf", reads a press release from the streaming giant.

Avery's nephew, Dassey, who has learning difficulties, was also convicted in connection with the murder, based primarily on a confession he made while under interrogation.

9 released an official trailer for the sequel to the popular "Making a Murderer" documentary series - which is set to premiere October 19 on Netflix.

TV journalist murdered in Bulgarian town of Ruse
The most recent show featured interviews about alleged corruption involving private companies misspending European Union funding. Bulgaria tumbled to 111th place in the annual RSF media freedom ranking in 2018 - the lowest among European Union member states.

"I have one goal", Zellner says in the trailer, "And that's to overturn the conviction of Steven Avery". Zellner has righted more wrongful convictions than any private attorney in the United States of America but faces her greatest challenge yet, uncovering unexpected evidence along the way. Following his release, Avery filed a civil lawsuit against Mantiwoc County for $36 million (£27.3m), which was still pending when he was arrested in connection to Halbach's murder.

Part 1 of the show followed the convictions of Avery and Dassey in the 2005 murder of 25-year-old Teresa Halbach, chronicling Avery's journey from DNA exoneree and reformer to convicted murderer. The US Supreme Court decided not to hear Dassey's appeal after lower courts overturned and then reinstated his conviction.

"This is critical, there's an abundance of new evidence", Zellner continues.
