Nokia has announced its new mid-range 7.1 phone, and I have to say that I'm impressed. Unlike what recent rumours and leaks have pointed out, the smartphone maker launched just one device and not the widely rumoured "Plus" variant.
HMD Global has finally announced the Nokia 7.1 smartphone as a successor to the Nokia 7 that was launched previous year with Snapdragon 630 chipset.
Europeans have two choices: the 3GB/32GB variant, as well as an upgraded version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The firm has not yet revealed if and when the device will be hitting the Indian shores.
The Nokia 7.1's highlight is its display.
Available in gloss midnight blue (which looks like black, as you can see from our pics) and gloss steel. the 7.1 weighs in at 160g and is 149.7 x 71.18mm in terms of footprint. However, speculating on the title gives us a hint it could be more than one smartphone which Nokia might launch tonight in London with the title of the YouTube stream "Nokia Phones Announcements" suggesting that. It is the first smartphone to come with "PureDisplay" technology, which ensures higher contrast, and more vibrant colors. It supports HDR 10 and can also convert SDR to HDR in real time.
The Chinese government infiltrated Apple and Amazon servers with a tiny microchip
US investigators revealed that the servers containing these rogue chips were assembled by Super Micro Computer Inc. Chinese spies reportedly used tiny chips in computer equipment in data centers to steal USA corporate secrets.
The notch has allowed Nokia to squeeze a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display into the physical footprint of a smaller handset. The 2.5D screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. While the storage is expandable via microSD card, the internal memory is running on eMMC 5.1 speeds.
On the rear of the phone is a dual camera setup that features a 12MP f/1.8 sensor that sports larger pixels than a lot of other smartphones at this price at 1.28um pixels. Both are powered by ZEISS Optics.
Among the features, the 12 MP/5MP dual cameras promise fast and accurate autofocus and HDR photography even in low light, as well as studio-style "bokeh" shots, picture-in-picture capabilities and a mode that lets you use the front and back cameras simultaneously. There's also a headphone jack on the top edge of the Nokia 7.1, with the USB-C port on its base. But the presentation wasn't just for phones, and the company also introduced two sets of wireless earbuds, offering very distinct designs.
Providing a playback time of 3.5 hours on a single charge, these new wireless earbuds are compact enough to be carried around everywhere. The Pro Wireless Earphones is a neckband that is created to deliver up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge. It is possible to separate the smart magnetic earbuds from each other to answer calls or play music.
