Trump calls fired Omarosa a ‘dog’ in new furious tweet

US President Donald Trump has escalated his messy clash with former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, referring to his longtime colleague, who had been the top African-American in his White House, as "that dog!".

Trump's former TV co-star on The Apprentice also said she has heard audio tape of the president using the N-word.

When she returned to ask for work after White House Chief of Staff John Kelly gave her the axe in December 2017, campaign lawyers believed she was still covered by that agreement.

She commented just hours after Trump's campaign announced it was filing an arbitration action against her, alleging that she violated a secrecy agreement.

Manigault Newman explained Tony McClain, a former contestant from "The Apprentice" played the tape for her in the White House, where Trump can be seen using racial slurs at African-American people on the show. The book itself reads mostly like the Fire and Fury sequel you never wanted: a swift account of the major events to surround Trump since he began his campaign for president, filled out with one adviser's observations, opinions, and insider "knowledge". Already she's released a recording of a phone call she got from Trump after she was sacked in December, in which Trump played dumb about it. The recordings she has released so far are shocking only because they were created by a White House employee; the content is enlightening but not scandalous.

Political consultant Frank Luntz said Manigault Newman mentioned him as one of the sources of the racial slur claim-an attribution he denied.

Omarosa Reveals Recording of Trump on NBC's 'TODAY' Show
He offered her a "friendly departure ", where she could resign to avoid damage to her reputation . Omarosa Manigault at Trump Tower in NY on December 13, 2016.

Trump brought on Manigault Newman, previously known for repeatedly being fired on NBC's "The Apprentice", as director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison.

In another tweet, Trump said he chided Manigault Newman to counter "fake news", the moniker he uses for a majority of the legacy media outlets. "She made it up".

The action, which the campaign said was filed in NY, comes amid a publicity tour by Manigault Newman to promote her book, Unhinged, which portrays Trump as bigoted and racist and questions his mental capacity. She said on NBC that in her absence "they're making decisions about us without us". And Omarosa's credibility hasn't been helped by some television interviews promoting her book Unhinged that have seemed frankly rather befitting of that title.

Newman was a guest on Matthews' show Hardball on Monday night. Mr. Trump came to office vowing to hire "only the best people" - but has struggled to put a lid on leaks, incompetence, backbiting and scandal inside his White House. "If you pissed off Omarosa, buckle up - it's going to be a tough couple of weeks", one unnamed official told ABC News. "Omarosa had Zero credibility with the Media (they didn't want interviews) when she worked in the White House".

"She may not even talk about it in her book, but I talk about it in mine, and she did these things to support her president and to support her friend she said she was loyal to", Ryan continued.

A feud between the two has escalated as Mrs Newman promotes a new book that is very critical of him.
