Move over, Tinder & Bumble: Facebook begins testing dating project internally

Facebook employees in the company's offices in Mountain View, California, who opted into the internal testing programme were sent links to sign up to the app last week. Although the feature is not yet available for prime-time, Facebook confirmed that its employees are already testing it. Facebook Dating will allow users to see other people who have also turned on this feature.

A screenshot from Wong's tweet showed Facebook stressing to employees that the app in testing was only to be used for the development of software, not romance.

In their 2018 developers' conference, the company announced its plans to venture into online dating services. Also, if you block someone on Dating, that person won't be blocked on Facebook too.

‘Facts of Life’ star Charlotte Rae dies at 92
She revealed her mother, sister and uncle died of pancreatic cancer and that she was cancer-free after six months of chemotherapy. She had two sons, Larry and Andrew , with her ex-husband, John Strauss , who she divorced in 1976 after he came out as bi-sexual.

Right now, some of Facebook's staff in the USA are putting the app through its paces, though it's mainly to spot bugs and problems rather than set up any office romances, Facebook says. The goal for this dogfooding is to test the end-to-end product experience for bugs and confusing UI. "This is not meant for dating your co-workers". The company has yet to announce when the feature will rollout.

The company looks to compete with popular dating apps like Tinder with the rollout of the feature which Mark Zuckerberg touted as being able to build "real, long-term relationships, not just hookups".

"We have designed this with privacy and safety in mind from the beginning". If a mutual attraction is established, you and your virtual date can start messaging each other through WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. It will have a feature called "unlocking" that will make your profile visible to other attendees of events or members of groups.
