Will Sarri's smooth start continue? .

City geared up for the Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Chelsea thanks to Sergio Aguero's brace at Wembley on Sunday.

The game was in control of City from the first minute while Chelsea looked to create chances.

Chelsea were second best in nearly every aspect of play and took 25 minutes to register a shot.

Sarri already knew that he could be about to lose some of his best players - Eden Hazard, Willian and Thibaut Courtois - who have all been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Manchester City's number one was a prominent force for Pep Guardiola last season after keeping 16 clean sheets and impressing with his distribution. Pep said of Sarri.

It's going to take time for Sarri to make his mark in the capital and having umpteen departures and a few more possible arrivals won't help the transition any but if we can read anything in to his first two games in charge, the signs are positive for Blues fans.

Maduro said investigations pointed to financial backers who "live in the United States , in the state of Florida". In video of the event, the president's wife can be seen flinching backward before Maduro glances upward.

The heat that beat down on the players all afternoon at the national stadium in London will now settle on 63-year-old Sarri as he looks to spark an immediate improvement in their Premier League opener at Huddersfield Town next week.

Saturday will mark the tenth anniversary of Sheikh Mansour's purchase of the club and what a transformation he's made.

"He came back earlier and that showed me again a lot of things and that's one of the reasons we won today". Sharpness may be a concern for the first couple of games, owing to the fact that most of the City squad were at the World Cup, but the ideas that took them to an historic 100-point title victory are still in place. The inconvenient tour didn't teach anyone anything and new signing, Mahrez, even managed to pick up an injury although he will play on Sunday.

By the end of the season City barely did any fitness or tactical work in training, they just rested.

Monday's sports pages are dominated by City's win and the fact that they look to be continuing where they left off with last season's successes.

Argentina worldwide Aguero had been stuck on 199 since he notched in the EFL Cup final victory over Arsenal on February 25, but he finally added to his tally in the first half to put Chelsea on the path to defeat in their first competitive match under Maurizio Sarri. He scored two goals, produced chances, he could have scored three or four or five.

However, just ten minutes later, he doubled his side's lead by sliding the ball inside the near post after a deft pass between the defence from Bernardo Silva.
