Schumer also noted that the two world leaders met for nearly two hours and the absence of notes or readouts and said, "You can't assume anything - but that as weak as he was in public before President Putin, he was even worse in private". There, Trump said Putin had strongly denied Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 presidential election.

"I think as time goes by and the President has already mentioned some things that happened in that meeting. That's not my job". In an interview on "This Week", ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., "Just bluntly, do you believe he is compromised by Vladimir Putin?".

"But does that trouble you? do you think the united states should be blamed?" We advise all partners not to cherish any illusions about the "new" and "interesting" ideas that Russian Federation proposed at the meeting in Helsinki. "You must come to advance the United States' agenda".

"[But] there was this equivocation during the press conference". Trump appeared to accept what he called Putin's "strong" and "powerful" denials of Russian government election interference over the conclusions of every USA intelligence agency. He had no note takers that were there that could summarize what they talked about.

While interviewing Coats on stage at the Aspen Security Forum on Thursday, NBC's Andrea Mitchell read a White House tweet announcing that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been invited to Washington.

Mr Coats said if he had been asked, he would have advised Mr Trump against meeting his Russian counterpart alone, with just interpreters in the room. I will say this: I don't see any reason why it would be. but I have confidence in both parties. On Tuesday, Trump said he needed to "clarify" one word he said during the press conference.

Speaking to Howard Kurtz on Fox News' "Media Buzz" on Sunday, Spicer said that Trump had admitted to fumbling his words when he appeared to side with Putin and cast doubts on USA intelligence conclusions about Russian meddling, but added that Trump in the past had spoken very clearly about Russian hacking. He walked back that statement a day later, saying he'd meant to say he didn't see why Russian Federation wouldn't be involved.

Florida shooting over handicapped spot argument was self-defense, cops say
Jacobs parked in the handicap spot, she said, because the parking lot was busy and they were just stopping for a minute. He said his office will forward the case to prosecutors for a final decision.

Asked at the summit if he believed the US intelligence community's conclusion that Moscow interfered with the vote, Trump said: "I don't see any reason why it would be [Russia]... but I have confidence in both parties".

However, even as she encouraged voter turnout, as WNYC's Alec Hamilton reports, "Clinton expressed concerns about the security of that November midterm election, saying that the country lacks the infrastructure and leadership to safeguard against further cyberattacks".

"I don't think he was prepared as well as he should have been".

Trump decided Thursday morning to have national security adviser John Bolton schedule a second summit and officially invite Putin to visit, The Washington Post has reported. "He was a total patsy".

"So I think what President Trump ought to continue doing is acting tough and talking in ways that advance the US interest in the Middle East, China and elsewhere around the world", Bossert concluded.

Rice said it was an "historic mistake" to allow Trump - or any US president - to sit down with Putin without note-takers or aides present in the room.
