As of yet, no information is available on what new features or design tweaks update 6.0 might bring to Sony's black box, but hey, mystery is all part of the fun, I guess.

Sony has announced that it has lifted the lid on sign-ups for the upcoming PlayStation 4 update 6.00 beta test. Registrations are now live for both the North America Network and the Japanese PlayStation Network!

Sony is now recruiting some beta testers for the next major system software update for the PS4.

The sign-ups for PS4 system software Update 6.0 are open till July 27 and users need to be the member of PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now in order to sign-up.

However, No hardware changes have been listed by Sony Interactive Entertainment but, the change in model number suggests that Sony has done a minor revision of the internal components.

Since this isn't a patch within version 5 but an entirely new set of numbers as a whole marks just how big this update will be.
