Johnny Depp sued for allegedly attacking crew member of movie set

Gregg "Rocky" Brooks, a location manager, filed documents in Los Angeles on Monday claiming the actor attacked him when he tried to enforce permit restrictions while working on the forthcoming crime film City Of Lies.

Brooks wanted an on-set Los Angeles police officer to accompany him when he informed Depp that filming would have to stop, but before he could find one, Depp allegedly accosted him, yelling: "Who the fuck are you?"

Brooks also claims that he was sacked from the film after he refused to sign a waiver relinquishing his right to sue.

In the movie, "City of Lies", set for US release September 7, the 55-year-old Depp plays a Los Angeles police detective who for years investigated the still-unsolved 1997 death of the rapper Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, whose real name is Christopher Wallace.

Brad Furman, the director, responded to the allegations in a statement to Page Six, where he referred to the claims as "exaggerated", and described Depp as a "consummate professional", as well as a "great collaborator".

Depp, who used to be married to Amber Heard, continued berating him: "You have no right to tell me what to do!"

Rocky went to Johnny and told him he only had one more shot. When Rocky didn't react, Depp screamed, "I will give you $100,000 to punch me in the face right now". Brooks says he was sacked on the spot when he refused. When he allegedly declined, he says his services were terminated immediately. The actor is now suing his former managers for $25 million for mishandling his finances, and he was sued in May by a pair of former security guards over unpaid wages and a "toxic" work environment. IndieWire has reached out to Depp's representative for comment.
