The woman who anonymously accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of groping her at a music festival nearly two decades ago "reluctantly" released a statement Friday as the spotlight intensifies on the incident. However, he acknowledged the woman who made the allegation may have experienced their interaction differently.

"I would never presume to speak for her, but I know there is an very bad lot of reflection to be had as we move forward as a society", he said. "If I had known you were reporting for a national newspaper, I would never have been so forward".

Shouldn't Trudeau also be measured by the "I believe her" standard? But he said that now and at the time the editorial came out, he was "very confident that I hadn't acted in a way that I felt was in any way inappropriate".

The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Kokanee Summit, where money was being raised for the Avalanche Foundation, a charity Trudeau became involved with after his brother, Michel, died in an avalanche in 1998.

The incident reffered to in the Editorial did occur, as reported.

"I don't want to speak for her, I don't want to presume how she feels now", he said.

Trudeau has said he did not act inappropriately towards the reporter but acknowledges she may have had an entirely different perspective.

Trudeau also explained why he apologized to the reporter.

Opposition politicians say Mr. Trudeau has not treated the allegations against himself as seriously as those levelled against other people.

Tony Parker leaving Spurs to sign with Hornets
Leonard is now seeking a trade after playing in only nine games last season because of his injured right quad. In March, a frustrated Parker told the media that his injury was "a hundred times worse" than Leonard's.

Asked for further clarification, Trudeau said, "I apologized in the moment", adding that neither he nor anyone on his team has reached out to the woman.

Trudeau, who was a 28-year-old teacher at the time, said he apologized to the reporter and is "confident" that he did not act inappropriately, according to a report from the Guardian.

Following a meeting with Ontario's new prime minister, avowed feminist Trudeau was asked about an allegation that he groped a journalist during a music festival in the western city of Creston, British Columbia in 2000.

Our prime minister has been doing a lot of "reflecting" lately.

Trudeau, who frequently proclaims himself a feminist and has generally taken a zero-tolerance approach to allegations of sexual misconduct within the Liberal party is finding himself in a odd place.

"There is an terrible lot of reflection to be had as we move forward as a society on how people perceive different interactions", he said. But she said that Trudeau's alleged actions were "definitely not welcome and definitely inappropriate".

The results of a third-party investigation into the allegations against Hehr were not made public, but after its conclusion Trudeau allowed Hehr to remain a member of the Liberal caucus, though chose not to reinstate him to cabinet.

"There is no context in which someone doesn't have responsibility for things they've done in the past", Trudeau told Hall.
