Sixteen people, including 10 players, died as a result of the crash.

The Broncos were on their way to a playoff game when the crash occurred, killing 16 people and injuring 13 others.

Spokespeople for the RCMP are not releasing any information as to what specifically caused the crash as the matter is now before the courts. Instead, Thomas and his family have been "grieving for our son every day".

"They're going to be there for a while yet", he said.
