Facebook claimed that the user data from all the three apps would be deleted within 90 days.

Elsewhere, there's Moves. That's another app that works on the premise that you don't really need a fitness tracker on your wrist if you carry your phone around with you everywhere.

Facebook has announced that it is shutting down Hello, Moves, and tbh, due to the apps' low usages. Another Facebook acquisition, Moves has been under Facebook control since 2014, but there are plenty of other apps that do similar things now - including Google Fit which is bundled with most Android phones - and it's safe to say that Facebook hasn't been putting much of its full marketing grunt behind it. The apps will be shut down at various stages, with Hello expected to be deprecated in the next few weeks, while Moves will deprecate on the 31st of July.

We launched Hello in 2015 for people using Android in Brazil, the United States and Nigeria. Facebook had said at the time the company's resources would be able to help tbh "continue to expand and build positive experiences", and at least some of the people involved in tbh appear to be staying put for now despite the closure.

Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's engagement party
Filmmaker Karan Johar and Indian former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar along with his wife Anjali Tendulkar also graced the ceremony. Guests at the bash included actress Priyanka Chopra , who reportedly took singer Nick Jonas as her date to the Ambani house.

Facebook acquired tbh - which stands for the popular texting acronym "to be honest" - for an undisclosed sum last October. The app was first launched in 2013 and Facebook acquired it back in 2014.

Tbh ("to be honest") was downloaded 5 million times in the U.S. in its first nine weeks, before being bought by Facebook for an undisclosed sum. It let users create quizzes their friends could vote on, and you can see how it worked in practice here.

"We know some people are still using these apps and will be disappointed", the company said in a blog post late Monday.

Facebook shares that they regularly review their own apps as well as the ones the acquire so they don't spread themselves too thin maintaining a thousand ones when only a handful are actually being used. Sometimes this means closing an app and its accompanying APIs.
