Philippines power forward Marc Pringis has removed a post from his Instagram account after a public backlash to the team posing for a selfie following their ugly all-in brawl with the Australian Boomers during a FIBA World Cup Asian qualifier. Two of those players quickly fouled out, leaving one Philippines player on the court, which forced the officials to call the game with Australia winning 89-53.

Play was suspended for more than half an hour before 13 players were ejected - nine from the Philippines and four Australians: Goulding, Kickert, Thon Maker and Sobey.

A disciplinary investigation has been opened by the International Basketball Federation who host the FIBA World Cup, taking place next August.

Australia led 79-48 with four minutes left in the third quarter when Philippines guard Roger Pogoy struck Chris Goulding with an elbow. "We don't play the game in that spirit", Moore said.

One of the craziest snippets from the entire melee came from Bucks and Australia star Maker though.

He said all the players are shaken up, and Chris Goulding in particular.

The sight of a seven footer flying through the air in such a manner was both terrifying and comical, and he was duly ejected for his freakish act.

The next second, both teams - and a few fans - were engaged in the violent fight, with kicks, punches and even chairs being thrown.

Terrence Romeo also threw a punch at the back of the head of Maker.

"We want basketball to be the victor. The decisions will be communicated in the coming days", FIBA tweeted. During a closed-door practice conducted by the Boomers early Sunday afternoon, members of the Australian team forcibly removed the stickers of the game sponsors from the hardcourt of the Philippine Arena.
