LeBron James signs four-year, $154 million deal with Los Angeles Lakers

  • Private jet that went from Cleveland to Caribbean headed to LA

As many had pointed out, at the time the tweet was sent, Lebron hadn't even sat down for his scheduled meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers yet.

The deal comes just two days after the OH native declined the player option to remain with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2018-2019 season, making James an unrestricted free agent with room to negotiate what he wanted next.

Cleveland has advanced to the last four NBA Finals since James returned and it won the title in 2016.

The move is a seismic shift in the landscape of the National Basketball Association, one that makes the Lakers and immediate contender for a playoff spot in the Western Conference at the very least.

The 76ers' contingent was to be led by their ownership group headed by Josh Harris and David Blitzer, a person with knowledge of the details told AP. James already serves as Simmons' mentor.

James would be the 12th, which means Cleveland will only be looking to fill two or three open roster spots as it is. The Leonard trade is still possible, but the Spurs have been reluctant to send him to a conference rival and are said to be less-than-enchanted with what they would receive back.

Take a look through the gallery above to see how the LA Lakers could line up next season with both LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard. They can't sign with other teams for several days. James agreed to a four-year contract with the team worth $154 million, Klutch said.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday that Leonard prefers a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Joshua promoter challenges Wilder to sign contract for Wembley clash
In an expletive-laden tweet, Wilder said: "You're not a true champion??" Shelly knew the WBA was calling me every day. Nothing makes sense here at all. "He sent us a bull**** offer thinking we'll never take it.and we took it".

LeBron James is still weighing his options in free agency.

George's choice could sway James to sign a short-term deal with Cleveland, but the Lakers are determined to get their hands on the four-time MVP.

While it could seem like the Cavs are in for a relatively quiet free-agency period outside of the James pursuit, the summer was preceded by a bevy of activity arranged by general manager Koby Altman, from trading for Hood, Larry Nance Jr.

The Sixers do not quite have the cap space to pay James a maximum salary ($35.6 million next season), but could clear it without little trouble if James wanted to head their way.

Wine-and-gold vs. Purple-and-gold.

When James went to Miami, he was playing alongside all-stars in Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Well, at least young and outspoken center Embiid isn't.

The Lakers finally have the star they've waited for since Kobe Bryant's injury.
