It follows the death of a seven-year-old girl in 2016 when a bouncy castle broke free from its moorings in Harlow.

An inflatable at a beach in Norwich exploded and threw a child 20ft in the air, witnesses say.

The East of England Ambulance service received more than a dozen calls just after 11am.

In an incident which started as fun and ended as a tragedy, a young girl died after a bouncy castle on a beach exploded.

"Just seen the most horrific thing in my life".

According to the local Eastern Daily Press (EDP), a witness reported seeing the inflatable "explode" while another said the victim had been "catapulted" into the air.

She said a lifeguard did CPR for around 15 minutes at the scene before paramedics arrived. "Sadly, despite all the of the efforts and interventions, she was pronounced deceased".

"The young female was seriously injured and in cardiac arrest on our arrival, and was conveyed to James Paget Hospital".

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by police officers.

"Officers were called to Lower Esplanade around 11.15am following reports a child had been thrown from a bouncy castle".

A joint investigation between the Health and Safety Executive, police and Great Yarmouth Borough Council is under way.

Summer Grant was playing on the castle when it "cartwheeled" 300 metres down a hill with her still inside.
