Jerami Grant Returning to Thunder on 3-Year, $27 Million Deal

  • NBA stars don’t wait for Le Bron as free-agency frenzy begins

Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook reportedly threw a party Saturday night in Oklahoma City, perhaps not coincidentally the same night potential free agent swingman Paul George was coming to town.

As OKC general manager Sam Presti noted in his draft news conference, Thunder officials have been in communication with George and his representatives since the end of the season.

The Lakers seemed intent on landing two max players this summer, but they absolutely won by not landing George for $30-plus million a year. In fact, reports suggest that he had informed the team early on in the process that he was going to stay with the franchise in order to help them navigate more smoothly through the free-agent market.

This is definitely the biggest indication that the 28-year-old is likely to stay with the Thunder next season.

For the Lakers, losing George without even getting a chance to meet with him has to be a disappointment.

Trump narrows Supreme Court list, to name nominee July 9
And the Trump White House , while disorganized in other areas, made its relationship with the religious right a priority. While Kennedy was a conservative, he proved to be a somewhat unpredictable "swing" vote over his long career.

Whether he makes a swift deal to remain in Oklahoma City or takes his time deciding, the Los Angeles Lakers offer plenty of appeal for George. "If there's a wild card team in the LeBron James free agency frenzy it's definitely OKC", Twitter user Peyton Sawyer tweeted.

However, stranger things have happened in the past.

George's return, considered a huge long shot when the Thunder acquired him from the Indiana Pacers this time a year ago, creates what can safely be categorized as good problems for Oklahoma City.

The first year after Durant left, Westbrook carried the team on his back and managed to win the league MVP.
