The younger brother of Sacramento Kings power forward Zach Randolph died early Saturday in a shooting outside an in barbecue restaurant, the New York Daily News reports.

According to a report from WTHR, Roger Randolph, the brother of National Basketball Association player Zach Randolph, was the victim of a shooting in their hometown of Marion, In.

Zach Randolph, 36, has played for the Kings since being traded to Sacramento from Memphis in 2017.

Roger Randolph was sentenced to three years in prison in 2005 for his role in a nightclub shooting. The death was believed to be an isolated incident and not a random shooting. The shooting apparently stemmed from an argument on the dance floor.

Zach Randolph was at the club on the night of the 2004 shooting and was questioned, but he wasn't charged. There was a hearing last week in that case, which was unresolved. Born in Marion, Zach Randolph was a star at Marion High School.

The NBA star's younger brother reportedly was no stranger to the law.

According to authorities, brother of Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph was killed in an overnight shooting.
