  • Fortnite DOWN Server Status going OFFLINE update 4.4 patch notes coming from Epic Games

Epic's free-to-play battle royale game hit the Nintendo eShop yesterday, shortly after the company's E3 2018 Nintendo Direct broadcast.

Nintendo has given its Switch console a massive shot in the arm by announcing that it is releasing a version of Fortnite for the games device.

The Switch version of Fortnite does still support cross-play between Xbox One, PC, Mac and mobile, so it's not all bad news, but the PS4 which is meant to be "for the players" is a notable omission. The only other information provided during this Fortnite-themed portion of Nintendo's show was provided through a new trailer revealing how you can drop into the game anywhere you want thanks to the portability of the Nintendo Switch. The studio published a blog post a few weeks ago detailing what the future of the game holds, which you can find right here.

Given that Fortnite is pretty much a free to play a game that works exactly the same way no matter the platform, it's only Sony's PS4 owners that are left out of cross-play games.

$100M commitment to esports prizes will be split across different levels of play.

Record heat possible this weekend
Saturday through Monday , highs are expected to reach the 90s, with Father's Day Sunday being the hottest day of the stretch. It's reasonably likely that Washington will hit 90, and humidity levels will be noticeably higher than previous days.

Regarding the graphics, PUBG's world is fairly realistic, compared to the very colorful environment from Fortnite. Epic says they will not be selling teams or franchises, and won't allow third-party leagues to do so either.

Fortnite started out as a co-op sandbox survival game that pit you against both zombies and other players. The World Cup will focus primarily on Solo and Duos, though Epic said there will be Squad opportunities as well.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup begins this Thursday, June 14, A total of 32 countries will compete in Russian Federation to try to win the title as the World Cup Champion while millions of Fortnite players run around and build in their favorite team's uniforms. There's no doubt that Epic Games will be wanting to capitalize on the football hype with these Fortnite soccer skins.

This is also ideal for the developer of the game, Epic Games, which is trying as hard as it can to expand its number of players.
