A statement on the Real Madrid website read: 'Julen Lopetegui will be the coach of Real Madrid after the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed he had the chance to become Zinedine Zidane's successor at Real Madrid but turned down the offer to stay in Turin.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are believed to be preparing a big-money move for one of Brazil's most important players ahead of the 2018/19 season.

His performance while coaching Portugal club, FC Porto endeared Spain to pick him as their coach in 2016 to replace Vincent Del Bosque.

The Real job is not the only position Allegri has been linked with this summer.

Record heat possible this weekend
Saturday through Monday , highs are expected to reach the 90s, with Father's Day Sunday being the hottest day of the stretch. It's reasonably likely that Washington will hit 90, and humidity levels will be noticeably higher than previous days.

"I only have one year of experience with Oviedo and one year of experience as an assistant coach", Hierro said.

"I've always said that the President will be the first to know if I want to leave, and the President will have to tell me if he wants to make a change".

"I spoke to the Florentino Perez (Real Madrid President) once, and I said that out of respect for Andrea Agnelli (Juventus President), to whom I'd given my word, and Juventus that I'd be staying at Juventus".

Allegri added: "The Juventus project is renewed every year, and every year is competitive".

Allegri has since won four straight Scudetti with the Old Lady, marking a record seven consecutive Serie A titles in total, while also reaching the Champions League final in 2015-16 where the club lost out to Madrid.
