Did Instagram just stop notifying users about screenshots in Stories?

Earlier this week, Instagram revealed to Buzzfeed News that they have officially discarded this feature and now have no plans to bring it back to the platform.
On the other end, the person who posted the Story would see a Sun-like symbol (refer image above) right next to the person's name who took a screenshot of the Story or screen-recorded it.
Back in February, when Instagram began the test, it said that some users will receive a warning when they try to take a screenshot of someone's Story for the first time.
Instagram's screenshot-alert feature was taken from Snapchat.
This screenshot notification is clearly another copy of a Snapchat feature which lets users know if the photos, videos, or chats are captured by a recipient. The image-sharing service now notifies users when a screenshot is taken of images sent in a private Direct Message (DM). Instagram has not supplied a reason for the cancellation at this time.
