The final match Saudi Arabia will be playing in Group A, and probably the very last match of the World Cup 2018 for them will see them playing against Egypt, and that match is all scheduled to kick off on the 25 of June.

Russian Federation winger Denis Cheryshev has had a career littered with mishaps but he thrust himself into the limelight with two spectacular goals from the bench in the host nation's rampant 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia in Thursday's World Cup opener.

Before the match kicked off, the stadium was graced with a short opening ceremony with England's Robbie Williams performing alongside young Russian artist Aida Garifullina. But their hopes were soon dashed by an early goal at the 12 minute, with Yuri Gazinsky transforming Russia's first shot on target into a phenomenally clinical header.

The 27-year-old is among Russia's top players with nine goals in 58 appearances, but fans will be encouraged by the performance of his replacement, Denis Cheryshev, who scored twice against Saudi Arabia.

Aziz Bouhaddouz of Morocco scored an own goal (95') deep into stoppage time to give Iran the win.

And it seems he sparked one team into action as they try to get him signed up amid intense competition, including that from Arsenal.

But the home side in red immediately opened as the more enterprising group, ratcheting up the tempo against a Saudi Arabia that looked vulnerable at the back, though not without technical quality going forward.

Saudi Arabia, ranked World No 67, will have two more group games to redeem their battered pride.

They have won last three European Championships, and Spain captured the 2010 World Cup title.

Alan Dzagoev had been at the heart of things in their midfield promptings but had to go off after pulling a hamstring in the 23rd minute.

Neymar, the world's most expensive player, has recovered from a broken bone in his foot in time for the tournament.

Al-Sheikh also personally apologised to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the heir to the Saudi throne, who watched the game with Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, in his private box.
