  • Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann Makes Big Decision On Future

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta visited Monaco earlier this month and has managed to strike a deal with the Principality club.

The 22-year-old, who had been linked with a move to Liverpool and Barcelona, now looks set to make the switch to Wanda Metropolitano.

The 22-year-old is now at the World Cup with France, who are due to play their first game of the tournament on Saturday against Australia.

The future of Antoine Griezmann is still a mystery after the French frontman didn't respond to demands from the media to reveal his decision on where he'll be playing his club football next season.

Atletico Madrid have announced they have made an agreement in principle with Monaco to sign coveted France midfielder Thomas Lemar.

Having previously stated that he would announce his decision before France's opening World Cup game on Saturday, Griezmann chose to keep quiet.

Argentina launch their campaign against Iceland on Saturday, with games to follow against Croatia and Nigeria in Group D. Not just because we won but before the World Cup I got a very hard injury and a long time for recovering".

But he finally appears to have secured his next challenge, with Atletico giving every indication they want to close the gap on LaLiga champions Barcelona next season by signing a highly rated attacker.

Lemar, a winger, is with France in Russian Federation for the World Cup.

There was a moment of comedy during Tuesday's France news conference, when an eager Spanish journalist tried his best to get the scoop on Antoine Griezmann's future.

Two years back, Griezmann was the top scorer of Euro 2016 as France lost out to Portugal on home soil and he's unsurprisingly one of the favourites to win the Golden Boot this time around, where Didier Deschamps' side are serious contenders.

He made his France debut in 2016 and has scored three goals in 12 worldwide games.
