New York's governor is asking for a federal investigation into the conduct of immigration officials after an Ecuadorean pizza shop worker was detained while trying to make a delivery to an Army garrison in Brooklyn.

Pablo Villavicencio will remain in ICE custody but will not be deported just yet.

"Please ICE, do the right thing with my husband", his wife Sandra Chica said earlier this week, CBS New York reports. Villavicencio, who worked at a pizzeria an hour away by vehicle in Queens, produced a city identification card, but the official told him he wanted to see a state driver's license, Chica said.

Villavicencio showed a New York City identification card, also known as IDNYC, as he had done during previous deliveries.

Villavicencio was arrested after guard at the Fort Hamilton gate asked him to produce more than an IDNYC card, an official form of identification recognized in New York City.

Chica said Luciana was especially crushed on Friday when she "heard a noise outside where the garbage is, and she got so happy". "He was not committing any crime".

Kingdom Hearts 3 debuted back at E3 2013, and fans have waited five years to learn when they can their hands on the game. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age got a new trailer and a release date: September 4.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security supporting the stay and requesting Villavicencio be released. He said that a state-provided attorney had talked with Villavicencio, who is being held at a New Jersey facility. "As a father of three, I can't imagine the fear she and Pablo are feeling now", Cuomo tweeted.

Cuomo offered Villavicencio free legal representation and services through the Liberty Defence Project, a state-led project to assist immigrants. He got married to Sandra Chica, a US citizen, eight years ago and had filed an application for citizenship. "Further, his expedited removal will cause significant harm to his US citizen wife and two young children who depend on Pablo for financial and emotional support". They actually know me and the sergeant knows me for some time doing delivery, ' he said.

A pizza deliveryman whose detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers sparked outrage can stay in the country - at least until July 20. As such, his voluntary departure order became a final order of removal and is an ICE fugitive.

Chica said this was not the first time Villavicencio delivered pizza at the base. "And we need communities to come together to see that Pablo is one of many, and force them to stop tearing families apart". "They don't care about the impact this will have on us".

Make The Road says it's providing legal help to Villavicencio's family.

"The support from all corners of the city shows that New York City is supporting immigrants", she continued.
