In response, the NFL has decided that players and teams will be fined if they kneel during national anthem from next season. The Philadelphia Eagles were scheduled to visit the White House today to celebrate the franchise's first Super Bowl.

Boyd's death comes one year after he and his mother were involved in a serious auto accident, in which their vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. "[Recovery is] a very slow progress".

The Missouri native noted that "it just feels like something great is about to happen once I get back on my feet and back in front of the audience again". Just be grateful that you survived.

Mr. Boyd also ran unsuccessfully as a Republican for a southeast-Missouri U.S. House seat, losing in the general election in 2012 and in the primary in 2014.

Our thoughts are with Boyd's loved ones during this hard time.
