  • Eagles Uninvited to the White House

Amidst the cancellation of plans to honor the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory at the White House, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders about President Trump's view on the rights of National Football League players to free speech.

Trump previously cited the Eagles' stance against the president insisting players stand for the national anthem as reason for their invitation being revoked.

Fact No. 1: There was not a single Eagles player who failed to stand respectfully for the anthem last season, and there is not a single shred of evidence that any Eagles player disagrees with Trump's desire that they respect the military, our flag and our country. He declined to provide information on how things escalated to the White House accusing players of abandoning their fans by deciding to not attend.

In response, the NFL has decided that players and teams will be fined if they kneel during national anthem from next season.

The Philadelphia Eagles were scheduled to visit the White House today to celebrate the franchise's first Super Bowl. Moreover, Trump tweeted that it's just as disrespectful to stay in the locker room as it is to kneel on the field.

While Goodell hasn't publicly commented as of yet, the NFL Players' Association released a statement on Tuesday morning regarding the White House's decision against hosting the Super Bowl champions. "The men and women that wanted to go should've been able to go".

"I don't like Kim Kardashian at the White House, I don't like the Eagles at the White House, I don't like anybody who is famous for the sake of being famous at the White House", Shapiro said. The President said on Monday: "The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team".

Torrey Smith, who played as a wide receiver for the Eagles in the Super Bowl but has since been traded, responded on Twitter to Trump, saying that there were "so many lies".

In the video, you can see the man is in eye-sight of the president. Star basketball players LeBron James, of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Stephen Curry, of the Golden State Warriors, said they agreed that whichever team wins the NBA championship would skip the traditional visit to the White House.

Don't be late: "I will be there at 3:00 p.m. with the United States Marine Band and the United States Army Chorus to celebrate America", he said.
