  • Watch: US woman arrested after children filmed in car in pet kennels

According to the police in Memphis, a city located along the US Mississippi River, the video was shared online showing the two children getting out of pet kennels in the 3700 block of Elvis Presley Blvd Saturday evening. The video went viral, and eventually led to the arrest of 62-year-old Leimome Cheeks, reported the Commercial Appeal. According to a police affidavit, the children-aged seven and eight-said there was no room left in the auto, so they were told to sit inside the kennels.

They said their grandmother told them to sit in the kennels because there was no room in the trunk.

The report also notes that the temperature "reached 95 degrees and there were no vents in the rear of the Ford Explorer".

Facebook Leimome Cheeks is being charged with child endangerment after allegedly locking two children in dog kennels in the trunk of her SUV.

Skylark Blake told the local news outlet that Cheeks is "a nice lady" and he 'can't see her doing that'. I only met her like once maybe twice.

President Donald Trump, which has partly rolled back a detente with Cuba, responded previous year by sharply drawing down U.S. A State Department official says they are "potentially new cases" but not yet "medically confirmed".

The concerned citizen who shot the video says that he recorded the video for evidence in case police didn't show up in time.

An affidavit states Cheeks admitted to putting the kids in the kennels and drove them from Whitehaven to Collierville then to Downtown Memphis, checking on them periodically. "You looking at that video, you see she opened up the cage let the kids out the cage out the trunk of the auto, I mean it don't look good".

The 62-year-old was being held Sunday at Shelby County Jail.

Cheeks was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
