  • Google Pixel 3 XL: New leaked photos reveal a major design overhaul

We sincerely hope that Google steps things up in 2018 though, because a new leak from last night reveals a next-generation Google Pixel 3 XL that deserves some serious attention.

The images were first posted on the XDA Developers forums and show off the front and rear of the alleged device. As also seen previously, the device will sport two selfie cameras at the top, and a front-facing speaker grille at the bottom. There's also the smaller Pixel 3 to wonder about, which has been rumored not to receive a notch.

Overall not that different from the Pixel 2 XL, which shouldn't be a surprise, though Google has jumped in with the other bezel-hating companies to build a bigger display.

As for the rear, it's nearly exactly identical to the Pixel 2 XL, except there's a new sensor in between the camera and the phone's flash. Google Pixel 3 internally bears the codename "Blueline", according to a Droid Life report. Another highlight of Pixel 3 XL will be a glass back design, though it is unclear at this point if the phone will support wireless charging.

Kim summit will cost about $20m to host: PM Lee
In his first public comments since arriving, Kim said Singapore's role would be recorded in history if the summit was a success. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said US and North Korean officials would hold working-level talks on Monday.

Google is expected to launch the next batch of Google Pixel phones in October, but we may already know what the Google Pixel 3 XL could look like IRL. To be specific, they will be called the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. No Pixel device has ever been compatible with wireless chargers, though Google's Nexus 4 from all the way back in 2012 was compatible with the Qi protocol.

Just because the phone is made of glass doesnt mean itll have wireless charging.

Interestingly, these photos suggest that the SIM tray will be located at the bottom edge of the smartphone, right next to the USB Type-C port. The phone will not have an edge-to-edge screen or notch. Of course, XDA did some digging around the latest Android P developer preview for clues. Supposedly, the circular symbol on the back of the phone is an official Google Prototype symbol. Even among Android vendors, Google is nowhere near the top-selling phone brand despite the fact that its Pixel branded smartphones offer huge advantages over the competition.

That's it for now, but we're hopefully going to see more of this soon. It could make debut in early 2019 with Snapdragon 710 processor.
