  • Gator attacks, likely kills woman as she walked dogs in Florida

State wildlife searchers have located the body of a woman believed to have been killed during an alligator attack in South Florida.

Trappers have spotted a 12-foot alligator in the pond in Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park, she said.

Officers and Florida Fish and Wildlife officials surrounded the lake, searching for the gator and the woman, WPLG reported.

Neighbors at the gated Isla del Sol community in Plantation where Matsuki lived told the Miami Herald she was a "soccer mom" who they frequently saw walking her dogs in the morning while wearing workout gear.

The three dogs are now in custody of Broward Animal Care. Residents said they often saw her walking her dogs in the area.

Ramsaran noted that there are many alligators in this lake but said there aren't signs warning the public that these animals are in the area. They found body parts inside the reptile.
