Duchess Meghan joins the royal family for first Trooping the Colour

Next week, Meghan Markle will be going it solo without Prince Harry for a royal appearance alongside Queen Elizabeth.

Meghan looked chic in a dress by Carolina Herrera and a hat by Philip Treacy, while Kate was stylish in an Alexander McQueen dress and a hat by Juliette Botterill.

The duchess, 36, was the only woman in the family not wearing a long sleeved dress.

As she stood in front of Kate Middleton and Prince William waving, the little royal appeared to stumble backwards - as if she fell off a small step she was standing on.

It wasn't all sitting in silence, however, as Savannah loosed up her seemingly tight grip for a moment of celebration. Her most notable accessory was a Sphinx-like expression. In turn, the royal family is making it clear that she is very much a senior member of the family. All the young royals looked up in awe as the traditional RAF flypast soared overhead - cue the cutest facial expressions of the day!

Queen Elizabeth Celebrates Her 92nd Birthday at Trooping the Colour Parade
The monarch's husband, Prince Philip , was absent from this year's event, as well as her great-grandson, Prince Louis . All eyes were on Meghan's stunning white wedding gown by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy on her wedding day.

She and Harry arrived at Buckingham Palace in the back of a auto before switching to their carriage for the big occasion. The Duchess travelled to the Horse Guards Parade in a horse-drawn carriage alongside Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew.

Twitter users who were on holiday near the hotel reported it had "strangely high" security levels and "grounds closed to all" last week.

As the aerobatic display team, the Red Arrows, released plumes of red, white and blue smoke over the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the Queen's great-grandchildren waved wildly.

Prince Philip, who retired from royal duties a year ago, did not attend the military parade. He will celebrate his 97th birthday Sunday. However, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, might as well have been the guests of honor.

The duke and duchess, who married exactly three weeks today, travelled from Buckingham Palace along the Mall to cheers from royal fans gathered in the famous London thoroughfare.
