Fewer than 10 Philadelphia Eagles were set to visit White House

"When the national anthem plays, you stand and you put your hand on your heart".

The Eagles were disinvited from the ceremony amid the national anthem controversy.

Trump sang along to "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" during a brief ceremony that included the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Army chorus.

In fairness, though, Trump has a history with eagles. "I know that you guys would love to engage on matters of conversations between the special counsel and the outside counsel, but we purposefully" remain separate from special counsel matters, Sanders said when pressed by CNN's Pamela Brown.

On Monday, the first lady strolled into a White House event Monday for military families and swept away the wild speculation that she was incapacitated or had otherwise vanished.

When somebody says they don't want to come to the White House, he disinvites them so the photo op don't look bad.

Trump, though, walked that back Monday.

Meanwhile, arguably the greatest athlete of our time, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James - who tweeted that Trump was a "bum" after Trump withdrew the invitation for the National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors previous year - struck back. But the 1,000 or so who came to the event were a suspicious group of football fans: nearly all in business suits and only a few wearing Eagles paraphernalia.

Lyon chairman Aulas hands Liverpool huge blow in Fekir pursuit
However, Fekir has never started a competitive match for France so is unlikely to be a key player at the 2018 World Cup. Having already signed Fabinho from Monaco , Jurgen Klopp is clearly looking to bolster his midfield options.

Fox & Friends concluded by mocking the Eagles players for having to practice instead of going to the White House party. Don't expect them at the White House either.

The overwhelming issue surrounding the Eagles' planned visit was that most of the team was not going to attend, and that was a major factor in Trump deciding to pull the invitation.

"NFL, no escaping to Locker Rooms!", the President reiterated the point in a Twitter post on Tuesday morning.

James' remark came in response to President Donald Trump's decision to disinvite the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from a celebration of their title at the White House.

Long also wrote that most players who decided not to visit the White House on Tuesday had decided long before the NFL issued a new edict last month that said players in the future would be fined if they knelt during the playing of the national anthem. Trump tweeted: "Honoring America!" The Philadelphia Inquirer said "fewer than 10 players" were attending. The policy requires players to stand for the anthem if they are on the field.

Seizing an opportunity to fan a culture war he has stoked, Trump tweeted Tuesday: "Honoring America!" These are players who stand up for the causes they believe in and who contribute in meaningful ways to their community.

Trump had been leery of the Eagles' planned visit to the White House for some time because the team's owner, Jeffrey Lurie, has been a Trump critic and several of players have been outspoken against the anthem policy, according to an outside confidant and a White House official not authorized to discuss internal conversations publicly. What's unique about this locker room is that everyone's treated with respect, people truly care about one another, people respect other people's opinions.

Trump's announcement was the latest signal that tensions remain high around the National Football League protests that began in 2016 when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began silently kneeling on the sidelines during the anthem.
