During the WWDC 2018 Conference, Apple senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi conducted a live demo to show the functionality of group FaceTime showing how it integrates with Messages and how easy it is to use.

After Google announced its "Digital Wellness" for Android system, a function that can allow users to monitor how much they've spent on their handset, Apple followed suit in response to concerns raised by its investors calling for digital locks for kids. So say for instance you want to limit the amount of time you spend stalking models on IG, you can use Screen Time to tell you "time's up" when your allotted Instagram allowance runs out.

Of course, this prompted a reaction from Facebook's Chief Information Security Officer, Alex Stamos who, while suggesting that Apple was singling out Facebook, tweeted that the new version of Safari will not be able to block tracking pixels or Javascript components that work as trackers too.

Facebook said that firms such as Apple did not abuse the access to information.

This is clearly not Facebook's year.

It added that Israel was attempting to "mislead Argentinians into believing that Jerusalem is united for the Jewish people". Jerusalem is a highly sensitive zone in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The prompt also has been created in a way that makes it clear to users that they are being tracked by websites like Facebook. Users can also set time limits for apps and when time is up, they are notified. Apple is taking aim at Facebook's Like buttons, Disqus comments widgets and other third-party APIs that can be used for data collection, tracking and ad targeting.

Apple is also limiting what is called "fingerprinting", which is created to allow companies to follow certain device activity from one site to the next. Cook said he'd been testing them out and was alarmed at what he found.

While introducing this feature to the world, Apple made a decision to show Facebook apps as an example, which is amusing because they could have chosen any other app. And a new app, Measure, that uses the phone's camera to scan objects and calculate their size.

Apple Watch's operating system also upgraded to WatchOS 5.0, which included a new feature where users can press a button and send their voice directly via walkie-talkie-style communication with other Apple Watch users. So if your device was compatible with iOS 11, it will also be compatible with iOS 12.

In terms of measuring the success of the iPhone, "We've never been focused on usage as a key parameter", Cook said.
