  • Serena Williams brings back the catsuit for return to French Open

Serena Williams has always been known for her bold on-court looks, and in her return to the French Open on Tuesday morning, she did not disappoint.

Williams will play her second-round match against 17th-ranked Ashleigh Barty, who is very impressed by her opponent's comeback: "What Serena's done to be able to get back, along with Azarenka as well, and a lot of the other girls who are coming back after pregnancy, is a pretty fantastic thing".

Williams, who won her 23rd major at the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant, is trying to win her first Slam with her daughter, Alexis Olympia Jr., in tow.

After losing to her sister Venus Williams in the third round at the BNP Paribas Open and to Naomi Osaka in the first round of the Miami Open, Williams chose to focus on training instead of playing more tournaments.

Controversially overlooked for a seeding in Paris, after having her first child last September and slipping to No.451 in the world, Williams carved out a 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 win over big-serving Czech left-hander Kristyna Pliskova.

Williams owns 23 Grand Slam singles titles.

"So it will be a really good, another good show for me".

WYFF anchor Carol Goldsmith said on air that McCormick and Smeltzer were "beloved members of our team - our family". He said the ground was saturated and the tree's root system had failed. "It was a freak of nature", he said.

- The American star makes Pliskova pay for her wastefulness when the Czech nets a simple return and Williams is 3-2 to the good.

She explained her outfit was a nod to all the mum's out there doing it tough. She lost the first two games of the second set but came back to win six of the next eight to take the match. They talk about the baby and how happy they are.

Williams said the bodysuit made her feel like a "queen of Wakanda".

The very first game featured an ace at 112 m.p.h., and when it ended with Pliskova netting a backhand, the chair umpire intoned, "Jeu, Madame Williams", - French for "Game, Mrs. Williams, " a change from the "mademoiselle" officials use for unmarried female players.

He blew a 5-2 advantage in the opening set, then a 3-1 buffer in the second. Two years has been a long time but I trained really hard on the clay.

"Forgotten how Serena is hated by the Roland Garros crowds?" "I have given tennis so much, and tennis has actually given me a lot, and I couldn't be more grateful", Williams said.
