'No panic' after Warriors' big loss to Rockets, says Curry

In a pivotal Game 2 matchup with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals Wednesday, the Houston Rockets saw their big three step up and save the day. Star guard James Harden made the double-double with 10 rebounds and 27 points.

The win for Houston meant they avoided losing consecutive games for the first time this postseason and it was the Warriors' first loss in the second game of a playoff series since the 2015 NBA Finals. Tucker had just one point in that game and Ariza scored eight, but was limited on defense after collecting his fifth foul early in the third quarter.

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said the effort showed why his team are the top seed.

"We can beat anybody, anywhere at any time playing the way we play", D'Antoni said. "You have one of the best offenses of all time, at least, with Golden State and we're trying to prove we're up there with them".

It's awesome how much better the Rockets looked in Game 2 compared to Game 1 as they came out with the right level of desperation and it paid off.

"We are who we are. We're in pretty good shape right now".

And Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he was certain Curry would find his groove.

Fortnite's Limited-Time 'Solo Showdown' Ranked Mode Offers Chance For Massive Rewards
Finishing first in a match will earn you a full 100 point, which drops all the way down to just 25 points for places 76 to 100. Don't get too excited, though: remember, this is a ranking of everyone that plays at least 50 matches in the mode.

Durant made a basket after that, but Houston scored the next eight points to extend the lead to 119-91 with about five minutes left.

Durant had a strong night again with 38 points, after scoring 37 in game one, but team-mates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for just 24 points after the pair went for 46 in the series-opener. Overall the Warriors were just nine of 30 from three-point range.

PJ Tucker, who scored just one point in game one, scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half for Houston. That wasn't the reason the Warriors lost, for sure, and it'd be aggressive - plausible, but aggressive - to say Curry expending energy on the defensive end is the reason he's not shooting well right now. "We were smarter", said Harden, whose Rockets travel to Oakland for game three on Sunday with renewed confidence. "If he can continue to do what he does, I'll shoot the ball better and play better defense, other guys will get involved and we'll be in great shape".

The Rockets are good, but they can not keep up with a Warriors team that is locked on the defensive end, getting easy offense from Durant (there's no reason to think that'll stop anytime soon), and a full-fledged Curry performance.

The first two games of the Western Conference Finals were played at the Toyota Center in Houston and the series now moves to the Oracle Center, the home of the reigning National Basketball Association champions for Game 3 and Game 4.

The Warriors taking on the Rockets is a match up that has been discussed since October past year and it is fitting that the top two teams from the West have made it to the conference finals.

"He's the kind of competitor and player who will bounce back from a tough night", Kerr said.
