Herman Cain said that the transcripts of a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower have no substance.

Trump Jr. answered "No, I don't recall" when asked if he had spoken with his father about the Russian Federation investigation, and he could not recall if he had spoken with him the day the Trump Tower meeting was arranged.

In an email to Donald Trump, Jr., that was copied to his father's personal assistant, Rhona Graff, music publicist Rob Goldstone - who acted as an intermediary - shared the proposal to build candidate Trump a page on Russia's popular Facebook equivalent VK.

Republicans on the Hill have shown concern over the meeting since at the same time, Veselnitskaya worked with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, which is the firm that published the dossier. So the argument that perhaps Trump Jr. was simply such a political neophyte that he may not have been aware of the laws surrounding campaign contributions doesn't hold up.

That's according to Ike Kaveladze, who told the Senate Judiciary Committee the sit-down between a Russian lawyer and top Trump campaign officials was dominated by talk of the Magnitsky Act.

This marks the second of four interim findings the intelligence committee has said it will publicize before tackling the more consequential question of whether Trump and his associates colluded with Russian Federation to influence the election's outcome, allegations the president has denied and sought to discredit.

The president's eldest son also deflected multiple questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee, responding to dozens of queries by saying he could not recall.

Mary McWilliams of San Clemente tells the Orange County Register that she saw two women with burns stagger out of the building. Two of the injured people had unknown injuries, and the third person suffered smoke-inhalation, according to officials .

President Trump personally helped draft a statement following the news reports of the meeting to say it had been about a program about the "adoption of Russian children" and had no connections to the campaign.

The Trump Tower meeting was arranged by a music promoter, Rob Goldstone, who reached out to Trump Jr saying he had "official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russian Federation and would be very useful to your father". But at the meeting, Veselnitskaya is said to have ended up talking about Russian adoption policy.

Below is the relevant portion from the 224-page transcript, with Trump Jr.'s answers preceded by "A". Former FBI Director James Comey, who was sacked by Trump, was invited but did not appear. But he later acknowledged that the president may have edited it through his close aide Hope Hicks.

Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Mueller is also looking into the matter.

"The June 9, 2016, meeting is one piece of a much larger puzzle and confirms that the Trump campaign was willing to accept Russia's assistance", the Democrats said in a collective statement. The emails also show he accepted the meeting despite it being described as part of a Russian government effort to aid his father's campaign. "But I just wanted to drop you a line to say if you ever need to pick my brains then my door is always open", Scaramucci wrote in the July 23, 2017 email to Goldstone.

Donald Trump Jr. shut down the June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower by telling his Russian guests perhaps they'd revisit the discussion about lifting sanctions legislation should his father win the election.

There was no dirt disclosed in the meeting, instead Veselnitskaya wanted to talk about USA imposed sanctions on Russian Federation under Magnitsky Act. "I've just sat in a meeting about adoption".
