Over the last few weeks, Ryan Reynolds has been doing some very amusing things to promote the film, including dissing Australia and singing on Korean TV in a unicorn mask but today, he's revealed that filming Deadpool 2 wasn't always amusing for everyone.

When a personal tragedy leaves our anti-hero mutant mercenary Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) at a loss for goal and meaning in his life. Played by Julian Dennison, the young New Zealand actor from "Hunt for the Wilderpeople", Russell turns out to have been sexually abused by the headmaster (Eddie Marsan) of the mutant academy he attends.

Deadpool 2 is a sequel that knows exactly what its audience wants to see.

In a role he seemed born to play, Reynolds delivered what was probably the funniest and to date, the most violent of movies in the Marvel movie series.

Deadpool 2 opens in Singapore cinemas on May 17. I think that's what translates to the audience.

Planned Parenthood and ACLU announce suit against Iowa abortion law
The group says that Iowa's legislature ignored the legal rights guaranteed in the Supreme Court's Roe v. The battle over this law could eventually make its way to the high court as well.

On balance, though, Deadpool 2 is a seriously amusing comedy and a genuinely good time at the movies.

The Wrap concurs, writing that "somewhere in the middle lies Deadpool 2, which never betrays the promise of the first film; it just doesn't build on it, choosing instead to replay the greatest hits". Well, believe them! The movie also doesn't shy away from the gore, justifying the R-rating to fullest. To add to Deadpool's issues, Cable (Josh Brolin) a Terminator-esque cyborg from the future has Russell marked and is out to kill the kid for murdering his wife and daughter some 30 or more years from now after he goes dark side. This amusing teaser leaves the fans laughing before superhero sequel's opening. Tone is so critical in these movies and at the heart of Deadpool is always a very emotional story. As you can guess it goes sideways badly. Wherever you fall, it's safe to say viewers can at least agree that it's unapologetically crude and that Ryan Reynolds once again proves he is the flawless choice to play the titular anti-hero. Our attention may be on Deadpool and his shenanigans most of the time, but Domino does occasionally steal the spotlight from him, especially during an exciting and fast-moving truck chase. The fact that she came back to his arms despite all the mutation and disfiguration that happened to him in the first film alone spells true love.

There are a few "blink and you miss them" cameos to be on the lookout for, as well as a brilliant mid-credits scene you should really stay for, but there is no post-credits scene so don't wait up for that.

Deadpool 2 is now playing in cinemas everywhere.
